Facebook is a force of nature now, taking over from almost all previous forms of personal interaction and information sharing. From discussions I've had with other staff members, however, I can see its value in maintaining or re-establishing relationships.
I am not sure whether I will persue with my account, but this experience has demystified the great social networking phenomenon.
