Flickr and YouTube

While I was somewhat familiar with YouTube, I knew nothing about Flickr. I found both fairly user-friendly. The quality of YouTube varies greatly with the material posted and can be mildly entertaining. I personally can't think of either being of much use to me, although I realize the huge influence of YouTube in giving many issues and people prominence where they would otherwise remain hidden, especially in politically repressive countries. As well, news can be updated minute to minute in ongoing situations.
